We are looking for a Materials/Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Peterborough, with flexible office work options. To succeed, you should have at least 5 years of experience in geoengineering and consulting engineering in Ontario. A strong background in construction and materials engineering is essential, along with a proactive team spirit to handle geotechnical and construction material requirements.

Working with a dynamic and high-performing team, this role offers a diverse range of tasks and will involve:

  • Project management, field investigations/assessments, engineering analysis/reporting, supervision, and training of engineering/technical staff
  • Preparation and review of technical proposals/reports
  • Management, coordination, and conducting various site investigations and construction/materials testing and inspections related to transportation, civil municipal, commercial and residential development, resource industries, utilities, and building structures
  • Managing project schedules/budgets, maintaining excellent client relations
  • Supporting business development/client relations through client acquisition, proposal/strategy preparation, and qualification packages
  • Providing clients with recommendations for materials testing results that do not meet specifications, and advising on how to bring the work into compliance
  • Offering expertise/support for geotechnical and construction materials aspects throughout projects, including design, tendering, and construction stages

What you will bring to the team:

  • University graduate with a degree in geotechnical, geological, or civil (geotechnical) engineering
  • Possess Professional Engineering Ontario designation (license) (Mandatory)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in geo-engineering and consulting engineering in Ontario (Mandatory)
  • Experience in geo/environmental, construction engineering, and materials engineering
  • Ability to lead and collaborate in different environments, and work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical/technical, project management, and report-writing abilities
  • Proficiency in current geotechnical software applications including GeoStudio (Slope/W)
  • Dedication to providing excellent client service and technical excellence
  • Well-organized, capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously, and delivering on time and within budget
  • Availability to commute or relocate to Peterborough, ON (Mandatory)
  • Supervisory and project management experience, knowledge of regional markets, agencies, and local terrain/geotechnical conditions
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License (G) (Mandatory)
  • Willingness to travel for work as required
