Position Summary: This course provides Teacher Candidates with a foundation in established and emerging theories of learning and how they inform and influence teaching practice. Throughout the course, all aspects of development, including physical, social, cognitive, and emotional, will be addressed in a digital, global context with relevant classroom applications. The course will emphasize topics related to the very young and middle-childhood students.

Successful candidate will work with the course lead in order to provide consistency across sections.

Assets for a successful candidate: Doctoral degree in education or related discipline; post-secondary teaching experience in teacher education; Teaching in Ontario schools grades K-10 (especially K-6 level); School leadership experience in the area of learning theories and child development

Qualifications – Required: Master's degree in education or related discipline; Bachelor of Education and/or K – 12 Teaching Certification; K – 12 teaching experience; Evidence of leadership and/or scholarship in the area of learning theories and child development

This appointment is in accordance with the Contract Teaching Faculty and Part-time Librarians Collective Agreement , for which the Wilfrid Laurier Faculty Association (WLUFA) is the exclusive bargaining agent. Applicants are assessed using both the "Appendix H: Assessment of CTF Candidates under 13.6.1" in the collective agreement.
