Senior Cardiology Technologist

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Program Team Manager and in collaboration with the Charge Technologist, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of the St. Boniface Hospital, the Senior Cardiology Technologist is responsible for performing electrocardiograms, teaching Cardiology Technologists/Technicians and students, performing exercise testing and ambulatory monitoring , Quality Assurance (auditing) and performs other related duties as assigned. Some occasional travel to other sites within Shared Health may be required for educational and/or Quality Assurance purposes.

Experience

Three years' experience as a General Duty Cardiology Technologist. Experience in either Holter or Stress preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

Successful completion of the Cardiology Technician Certificate Program. Advanced certification by CSCT or Registration/Certification Examination by CSCT.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Certified by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT). Must be a member in good standing with Manitoba Association of Cardiology Technologists (MACT) and CSCT.

NOTE: Those certified by CSCT as the Advanced Level prior to will be deemed to be qualified under the Educational requirement.

Qualifications and Skills

Good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to deal effectively with professional staff at all levels. Mature, professional manner. Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
