SUMMARY DEFINITION OF POSITION


Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Technical Consultant will be responsible for providing first class learning and development solutions through a range of workshops, store visits and e-learning interventions related to Nikon products and experience in collaboration with the Nikon Optical Canada marketing team.

He will also act as a consultant in the various technical areas of the marketing department including operational product development, development and enrichment of the consumer experience.


KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Co-develops, delivers and provides training programs for internal teams and partners, including in-person training, e-learning modules and workshops;
  • Collaborates with marketing and sales teams to support product & service launch plans, including training materials, in-store experience tools; and marketing requests.
  • Conducts research and analysis on trends and innovations, and uses this information to recommend training and experience solutions;
  • Works closely with the sales team, partners, training director to identify training needs and develop training programs to meet market needs and trends
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key industry partners and stakeholders to keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies;
  • Represents the company at industry events and conferences and participates in relevant professional development activities to stay current in the field;
  • Participates in the development, launch and implementation of in-store consumer experience solutions;
  • Serves as a trusted resource and consultant to ensure alignment between the training, sales and marketing teams
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience in the optical industry with a focus on training and development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and elearning platforms
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Bilingual (fluent in French and English, both written and spoken)
  • Optician, Optometry diploma or equivalent
