*Nupqu Resource Limited Partnership (Nupqu) *is proudly owned by member communities of the Ktunaxa Nation and operates throughout the Kootenays, in southeast British Columbia. Nupqu offices are located in Cranbrook, Fernie, and Castlegar.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, organized and responsible individual to join our team as a *Field Director*.

The ability to hold _Heritage Conservation Act_ permits within the Interior Plateau is considered an asset but is not required for this position.

*Job Title: *Field Director (Interior Plateau), full-time

*Location: *Kootenays, southeast British Columbia (Cranbrook, Fernie, or Castlegar)

*Salary/Wages: *$35-$40 per hour, based on level of experience and ability to lead projects as determined by Project Manager.

*Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in archaeology or anthropology
  • Completion of an archaeological field school, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in BC consulting.
  • FIELD DIRECTOR for the Interior Plateau, in good standing with the BC Archaeology Branch.
  • Experience identifying, recording, and evaluating archaeology sites
  • Understanding of the _Heritage Conservation Act_ and Archaeology Branch Requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience dealing with stakeholders
  • Leadership, a commitment to work well with others in a team environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat
  • Physically fit and capable of working long field days, sometimes in dynamic conditions
  • Willingness and ability to work out of town(hotel accommodation and per diem provided)
  • Drivers' license (BC Class 5 or equivalent) is required
*Job Responsibilities:

  • Leading archaeological field assessments (PFR, AIA, SAP)
  • Assisting with scheduling, reporting, artifact analysis, site form packages, interim reports, etc.
  • Communication with stakeholders
  • Adhering to and promoting safe working conditions in accordance with Nupqu Health and Safety
