Job Summary


Reporting to the Director, Communications & Strategy, MARCOM, the
Graphic Design Manager & Creative Lead is responsible for gatekeeping the look and feel of the OCI corporate identity through design, peer review, video, template development design and production, ensuring they meet corporate standards.

Ongoing design and development of designs/graphics for print, PowerPoint, ads and websites for the internet/intranet which supports and reinforces department and corporate goals and strategies.

Acts with sensitivity and integrity to safeguard all highly sensitive and confidential information and materials associated with this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and design electronic and printed materials inhouse for conferences, events, publications (including the Annual Report), the website, presentations, and other channels, ensuring they are brand compliant, dynamic in appearance, and align with the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Provide graphic and material logistics support to various teams to ensure successful professional events.
  • Peer review external uses of OCI logo to ensure brand standards are met.
  • Qualify suppliers and issue RFPs for large graphic related projects, resulting in a consistent quality of materials and on time delivery. Liaise with external suppliers to ensure smooth flow of production and development.
  • Effectively manage multiple production timelines for graphic materials, ensuring deliveries, timelines and budgets are met.
  • Effectively multitask on various projects/events/programs and deliverables simultaneously.
  • Anticipate, monitor and highlight any issues or concerns to the team for resolution related to graphics and production.
  • Provide graphics support and software training to staff. (E.g. Word, Acrobat, Paint, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Project management of creative materials and signage, from concept through development to production.
  • Work with internal teams to discuss project needs and interpret requirements from a design perspective.
  • Provide support to OCI in the form of video highlights and packages to be shared with external audience.
  • Assist with support for inperson and virtual events (e.g. Discovery/regional day(s), AGM).
  • Work with web team to development graphics for online products (e.g. OCI website, OCI programs, social media platforms, OCI Newsletters) to meet launch deadlines.
  • Develop new materials for promotion as needed including program sell sheets and event materials.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Formal education (3year college diploma), preferably in contemporary web or graphics design and development.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience.
  • Solid understanding of full cycle accounting processes and requirements.
  • Requires technical knowledge and skills acquired through formal training or education, or equivalent experience, in a PC environment with graphics/image editing software such as Macromedia, Adobe Suite, Microsoft (Advanced PowerPoint), InDesign and others.
  • Experience with webbased software and tools such as HTML, JavaScript, XML, CSS an asset.
  • Experience with video editing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and creative eye.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
  • Video editing capabilities.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Occasional overtime as required with occasional events to attend outside of normal business hours.
