Coveo is looking for a talented paralegal to join our commercial legal team You will be a foundational part of the commercial legal team, supporting various aspects of commercial transactions and being the internal lead for contract lifecycle management. We are seeking a motivated individual who can thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and who enjoys SaaS challenges.

As Paralegal in commercial law, you will report to the Senior Director, Corporate and Commercial Legal, and will work closely with a team of other legal professionals. You will also collaborate closely with our other legal functions including corporate legal and privacy & compliance. Youwill also work on a daily basis with our sales and finance teams to facilitate smooth commercial transactions.

As our Paralegal in commercial law, your responsibilities will include:
  • Support the legal commercial team through contract lifecycles, and assess and mitigate risks relating to such lifecycle. Manage and continuously improve contract lifecycle processes, from initiation through execution, organization and compliance management.
  • Serve as the legal team's owner of our CRM (Salesforce), and serve as the commercial legal team's lead in contract data management.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating confidentiality agreements and other commercial agreements on an as-needed basis, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, procurement and finance, to enable smooth business transactions, improve efficiency and streamline contractual processes.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs to enhance awareness of legal commercial issues and processes among internal stakeholders.
  • Assist on a range of other matters relating to commercial legal, including insurance management, KYC matters, client requests, etc., and provide general legal commercial support.
Here is what will qualify you for the role:
  • Diploma of Collegial Studies in Paralegal Technology, or relevant and proven experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a paralegal in a commercial or corporate legal department, preferably with exposure to commercial and contractual matters.
  • Strong work ethic and desire to implement and continuously improve internal processes, driving immediate and persisting value to the company.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Ability to deliver under pressure and constrained timelines.
What would make you stand out:
  • Previous experience in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) industry.
  • Prior experience in commercial law; familiarity with privacy protection laws and regulations.
  • Experience with contract management software or contract lifecycle processes.
