Environmental Ecologist

Gannett Fleming's Environmental Team in Toronto is currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Ecologist to join their growing team in Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting natural heritage studies for various projects.
  • Reviewing and interpreting background data using online databases.
  • Performing environmental field studies and programs.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects.
  • Conducting environmental impact assessments and proposing mitigation measures.
  • Preparing technical reports and analyzing ecological datasets.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Applying knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Assisting with regulatory applications and permits.
  • Supporting proposal preparation and workplans.
  • Enforcing safety and quality protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Ecology, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Experience in Transit projects is an advantage.
  • Understanding of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Strong commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Excellent self-management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with environmental permits and approvals.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant applications.
