Job Summary:

The Junior Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service to restaurant guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring the satisfaction of guests.

They will work under the supervision of the Head Server or Restaurant Manager and may be responsible for a variety of tasks to support the efficient operation of the restaurant.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests as they arrive, escort them to their tables, and present menus
  • Answer questions about menu items and make recommendations
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the pointofsale (POS) system
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely and professional manner
  • Check on guests regularly to ensure they are satisfied with their meals and drinks
  • Clear tables and reset them for the next guests
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, such as setting up tables, cleaning the dining room, and restocking supplies
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • Attend training sessions and team meetings as required

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Smart Serve Certification
  • Previous experience in a customer service or food service role is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time

Salary:
$15.50 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

  • Tips

  • Vaughan, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
