Join our team as a
Summer Recreation Assistant Facilitator. You will ensure the well-being of the individuals we support by promoting recreation and leisure opportunities in the community.

This
4-month temporary part-time role works
30 hours per week (weekend hours will vary based on activity) at an hourly wage of $25.95 per, plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits.

This position requires union membership.

Work Schedule:

  • Tuesday, 1:30pm 6:30pm
  • Wednesday, 2:00pm 8:00pm
  • Thursday, 3:30pm 8:30pm
  • Friday, 4:00pm 11:00pm
  • Saturday, 9:00am 4:00pm (Weekend hours will vary based on activity)

Expected start date and end date:

  • June 1, September 24, 2024

About the Opportunity
The Summer Assistant Recreation Facilitator will plan and implement recreational opportunities and vacations for adults with development disabilities.

The activities will include
local events and overnight vacations for individuals who would not otherwise have an opportunity to experience recreational opportunities.


  • Conduct a needs assessment,
  • Organize a calendar of recreation events,
  • Coordinate registrations,
  • Organize and purchase supplies,
  • Participate in and supervise activities, and
  • Provide a written summary report.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills,
  • Strong communication skills with individuals of varying abilities,
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment,
  • Awareness of community resources,
  • Experience planning and implementing individual and group activities,
  • Planning and managing time, money and other resources to achieve goals,
  • Being creative and innovative in exploring community resources and opportunities,
  • Experience with outdoor sports, camping, etc. an asset.

Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal

Contract length: 3 months

Pay:
From $25.95 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
