Job Description:

The Sales Director is part of the Sales leadership team responsible for customer strategy development and execution to drive profitable and sustainable sales growth within the channel. The Sales Director works with their direct reports and peers to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with customers and plays a critical role in the development of Sales talent for the organization.

What are we looking for?

  • 10+ years of professional experience in retail sales environment with a strong understanding in merchandising and customer relations.
  • 3+ years of previous experience as a people leader with a proven track record of developing individuals.
  • CPG experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience presenting and influencing internal and external senior management.
  • Ability to lead in a complex setting with a strong focus on achieving results.
  • Cross-functional experience is a plus, including Sales, Sales strategy, Marketing, Category Management, Retail Sales Management, Supply Chain Management.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead and cultivate a high-performing learning environment with direct reports by fostering personal growth, driving business expansion, and building highly engaged associates through effective team building and motivation.
  • Achieve sustainable business outcomes by managing financial targets and sales budgets within company benchmarks for assigned areas.
  • Support the development and execution of the Sales strategy by anticipating future trends, consequences, and the competitive landscape, aiming for sustainable and innovative category leadership.
  • Establish connections with key customer contacts at all levels and functions to implement strategic and tactical programs.
  • Provide customer insights-based recommendations to promote customer acceptance of proposed category assortment and meet volume/profit/share objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Leadership team to optimize channel and category performance, enhance trade revenue efficiency, and cultivate a strong Sales talent pool.
  • Contribute insights to improve business segment objectives through S&OP and Demand Planning processes.
