Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. The focus will be on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. The remaining time will be dedicated to essential financial tasks, including cash-flow management, financial projections, and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day to day financial transactions and maintain accurate records of all financial activities.
  • Record and reconcile financial data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Process invoices, prepare payments, and ensure timely collection.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and up to date financial information.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified during reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Generate financial reports for management, providing insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and monitor budgets.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the finance department.
  • Implement best practices to streamline financial processes.
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to achieve departmental goals.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Job Type:
Part-time

Salary:
$26.00-$28.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Hamilton, ON L8M 1P2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • DCS / DEC (preferred)
