Housekeeper - Plant & Yard

Pay Rate:
From $18.00 per hour and up based upon qualifications and experience

Schedule:
Day shift 7 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday

We are Public Transit accessible CMI is located at Keele and Langstaff in Concord.

A 20-minute bus ride from TTC Pioneer Village Subway Station in North York and a 10-15-minute bus ride from Rutherford GO Station in Vaughan.

We will reimburse York Region Transit if you need to pay a double fare.

As CMI continues to grow, we are looking for Housekeepers to help us maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.

Job Summary

Working in our plant and yard in a collaborative team environment, you will be providing the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sweep and shovel materials in the yard to keep it safe & clean
  • Support organization and general housekeeping
  • Sort and process nonferrous material into respective bins for processing
  • Assist in material processing as needed
  • Inspect and clear drain basins on a prescribed schedule
  • Complete required documentation to record inspections and plant conditions
  • Support lunchroom/locker housekeeping staff while on absences/vacations
  • Assist in identification & proper cleaning of any spills
  • Ensure drive lanes are clear of debris
  • Stock and pile surplus skids
  • Break down and stack gaylord boxes
  • Maintain waste rolloff bins & storage area
  • Stock maintenance supplies and maintain organization of spare parts room
  • Gather and empty garbage, cardboard, wood bins
  • Perform special cleaning projects on equipment
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies need for cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Support and drive efforts to reduce waste to landfill
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate is an asset
  • Previous experience in an industrial environment
years of previous cleaning experience

  • Good English communications skills
  • Ability to work well with coworkers
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions both oral and written
  • Understanding of cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to perform physical work
  • Strong attention to detail
