The Organization


Since 1981, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Toronto has served as a place to call home for families with seriously ill children undergoing treatment.

RMHC Toronto encompasses a House for 81 families in downtown Toronto and seven Family Rooms in hospitals across the Greater Toronto Area and in Sudbury.

The families we serve come from throughout Ontario, across Canada and around the world.


We are looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team at the House, located at 240 McCaul St., Toronto.

The Role


Are you someone who has a digital first approach, loves to dive deep into creative work, and has a knack for storytelling and making a difference? RMHC Toronto is on the hunt for a Digital Marketing Specialist to inspire giving and help raise awareness about our mission.


Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, the Digital Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Development & Marketing team to support and develop dynamic content for web, digital campaigns, fundraising campaigns, and print collateral that build the RMHC Toronto brand, increase awareness of RMHC Toronto, and grow revenue.

Daily, this role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to drive key content to elevate digital storytelling and manage day-to-day execution of marketing communication programs across multiple platforms and formats.

Hybrid in nature, this role works 2 days/week regularly in the office.

Key Responsibilities Include

Digital Marketing

  • Support the design and execution of direct marketing campaigns utilizing a range of marketing tools.
  • Support the organization's digital fundraising strategy to incorporate digital communications into direct marketing, including digital fundraising campaigns and stewardship communications.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage digital fundraising and refine the organization's online user experience and donor journey.
Web

Be the main point of contact for all web updates. Ensure best practices are used for search engine optimization and that information is timely and on-brand.

Social

- the social media strategy.
- responsibility to plan, write, post, engage, and report on social media activity on all channels. Assist with organic and paid opportunities.
- of the social media editorial calendar for the organization.

Email Marketing

- set up, deploy, and report on email campaigns.
- all emails on an integrated calendar and ensure timely and appropriate communication to all audiences.
- and monitor drip-campaigns to engage constituents.

Advertising

- with copywriting, designing, and tracking of advertising materials in market and seek out new opportunities to increase reach.
- for opportunities to build out a larger online presence to attract and retain donors (i.e. lead generation).

Graphic Design

- as an internal marketing support. Manage the graphic design request process and work collaboratively with peers to create posters, flyers, signage, and materials as required.
- the Adobe Creative Suite, build graphics and templates, aligned with brand standards for communications.

  • Support with the creation of marketing including newsletters, publications, web content, annual reports, donation pages, news stories, etc.
Photography/Videography

  • Own all photography/videography projects for the organization. Act as a photographer/videographer where required, or liase with external vendors when projects may be outsourced and ensure all material reflect the RMHC Toronto brand.
  • Collection of brand photos/stories: Ensure Ronald McDonald House Charities Toronto has a library of updated family and volunteer photos and stories that are available for use in various communications and impact reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • College diploma in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, fundraising or related field; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum four to five (45) years' experience in a communications and/or marketing role. Experience working in healthcare or notforprofit organization is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional content creator with a passion for storytelling.
  • Demonstrated experience managing organic and paid social media.
  • Knowledge of direct marketing, fundraising trends, and ability to developing new and creative donor acquisition tactics.
  • High proficiency in technology including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Mailchimp, Raiser's Edge, reporting and project management software.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Exemplary collaboration and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships. Ability to work effectively within a team, as well as independently.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a timesensitive environment and adapt to frequently changing priorities.
  • Ability to work professionally and compassionately with donors, volunteers, colleagues and families served by RMHC Toronto.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as required.
