The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and allocating all payments for any invoices and bills, as well as overseeing the Accounts Payable department.

This role works closely with multiple departments and reports directly to the CEO.

This position requires an organized individual with strong attention to detail who is efficient, hardworking and able to optimize department processes.

You should be knowledgeable, analytical, and decisive with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and allocate payments within appropriate terms, using multiple different payment methods (e

g:
credit cards, cheque, EFT's, e-transfer, or wires).

  • Monitor transfers to ensure correct amounts were debited.
  • Maintain accurate and complete payables report and provide to CEO throughout the week.
  • Schedule updated monthly rent payments by location, as well as outstanding rent invoices.
  • Hire, train and motivate accounts payable staff.
  • Oversee department responsibilities to ensure that they are completed accurately and on time.
  • Track all credits and refunds from vendors and suppliers.
  • Resolve AP discrepancies with internal departments, including pricing, receiving, and order approvals.
  • Analyze invoices for potential discounts, overcharges, and cost savings where possible.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or certificate in accounting, finance, management or related field.
  • Previous accounts payable experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning and problemsolving skills.
  • Able to prioritize and adapt to changing tasks effectively.
  • Ability to analyze information and processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.
