We have an opportunity for freelance Social Media Content Creators to collaborate with our team on a contract basis. We are looking for creative storytellers with a social-first and mobile-first view of content.

If you excel at independently building creative visual and written content for the fast-moving social media landscape, we want to hear from you.

While we want to hear from talented content creators who love to get out in the mountains all across North America, we do have a specific opportunity coming up for a creator of ski social content in our home base of Whistler, British Columbia.

Position:
Independent Contractor

Location:
Remote –or– office based in Whistler, BC
Experience
~3+ years of demonstrating initiative, innovation, and creativity in all major social platforms including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest and Twitter.
~ Demonstrated digital photography and videography skills, shooting in both studio and outdoor settings.
~ Strong design skills, fluent in both Adobe Creative Suite as well as a diverse range of mobile app video and image processing software, plug-ins, techniques and approaches.
~ Capable video editing and motion design skills, in both Adobe Premiere but also with a variety of mobile content creation apps
~ Strong writing skills and experience writing social content and blogs, and demonstrated excellence in proofreading and editing.
~ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
~ Impeccable attention to detail, spelling and grammar.
~ An understanding of SEO best practices.
~ Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills.
~ The capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, meeting multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities while coordinating with various teams and departments.

Responsibilities

Social Content Creators support and collaborate with our team on the development of social content for our outdoor-focused clients.

They are passionate and creative self-starters who are eager to engage on new projects and thrive on tight timelines.

They have experience working with brands, understand niche audiences, are natural storytellers, are experts at spotting social trends, and have a swiss army knife of creative skills that include capturing both still and motion imagery, editing, designing and writing.

~ Creating engaging, on-brand, visual and written content for a variety of social media platforms, including, but not limited to, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook.
~​​Generating, researching, and pitching ideas for our clients' content and social initiatives and campaigns.
~ Capturing, editing and manipulating both photography and video for the creation of content.
~ Designing or adapting graphics from brand asset libraries for use in content.
~ Sourcing visual assets, graphic elements, tools and techniques to facilitate timely production techniques.
~ Shooting live events or on-set video coverage, often shooting behind-the-scenes footage with an expanded production team.
~ Collaborating with other videographers and photographers to schedule and organize workloads to ensure deadlines are met.
~ Collaborate with and assist the video/photography production team to produce consistent, high-quality photos and videos.
~ Working with internal/client teams to gather materials/ information for social media postings
~ Collaborate to select interesting and appropriate props to creatively merchandise products and pull them for shoot days, and then repack and ship them after photography/filming.
~ Tapping social media trends, memes and themes for integration into content.
~ Liaising with other content creators, influencers, and brand ambassadors to curate and publish content for our clients.
