*Maintenance Mechanic

Campbellford Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced maintenance mechanic to join our team.

*Primary Responsibilities:
  • Check operating pressures and condition of all boiler room equipment and record in Boiler Room Log Book
  • Manage water treatment programs for boilers and other equipment and record adjustments and actions in appropriate log
  • Complete, to the best of their ability, all assignments left in the log books
  • Complete approved requests entered by various departments in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance work as generated through the CMMS
  • Ensure adequate supply of fuel oil, diesel, medical gases to meet requirements
  • Requisition and/or purchase materials, parts, and supplies to complete approved assignments
  • Routinely check environmental conditions of the building by touring areas
  • Maintain hospital grounds and parking facilities to ensure the safety of all persons on hospital property
  • Ensure a comfortable environment for both patient and staff by monitoring building conditions using the Building Automation system (BAS) adjusting settings as required, or by making the appropriate repairs as quickly as possible
  • Demonstrated positive attitude toward fellow employees, patients, patients' families, and the public
  • Other related duties as assigned
*Education & Experience:
  • Trade qualifications, such as Millwright, Plumber, Electrician, Stationary Engineer, or Steam fitting
  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma
  • Experience in a hospital environment is an asset
*Skills & Abilities:
  • Relevant experience in general maintenance and/or repair work
  • A good general knowledge of other trade specializations
  • Sound understanding of preventative maintenance programs
  • Computer skills related to the maintenance function and training
  • Demonstrates efficient skills exhibiting initiative and self-direction with a high level of commitment to work and employer
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize duties
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently or in a group as a team member
  • Demonstrates competency in additional office equipment/technology required in the position
  • Demonstrates a record of good attendance and punctuality at work
  • Demonstrated ability to reflect our culture of "people looking after people" in work
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
