Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent will assist in photography and graphic design for the Division of Housing and Ancillary Services
  • Attend events and capture visual assets (photos, video footage)
  • Stage and capture product photography for the food services and the bookstore
  • Create and design marketing materials, including but not limited print and digital ads, posters, brochures, banners, billboards, videos, etc.
  • Support planning and developing social media content
  • Conduct market research regarding other schools' marketing initiatives, visual presentation
  • Review existing marketing initiatives, organize focus group discussion, collect feedback
  • Assist in special projects in marketing and communications as required.
  • The incumbent will take guidance from the Marketing and Communications Coordinator(s), and work productively and courteously with other members within the Division

Education:

  • Currently attending Western University and returning to Western in the fall 2023 for fulltime studies
  • Preferred students enrolled in the program of Visual Arts, or Media and Information Technology (MIT)

Experience:

  • Previous work experience in an administrative environment

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Advanced computer skills with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), Final Cut or Adobe Premiere, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write in both marketing and journalistic style.
  • Reliable and dependable with the ability to consistently work assigned schedule
  • Ability to follow processes and practices with high attention to detail
  • Demonstrates integrity and works in accordance with Western's policies and procedures
  • Ability to multitask, to prioritize and maintain an organized work environment,
  • Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
  • Ability to work in a manner that is compliant with confidentiality requirements as applicable
