Traffic Control Personnel

Location:
Ladysmith/Nanaimo/Parksville - Vancouver Island

We are looking for Traffic Control Personnel who:

  • Have a valid BCCSA ticket.
( If you don't have one, we can explain where to take your 2 day course)

  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Your own vehicle.
  • Some or NO experience is ok. If you are willing to learn, we'll train you.

Responsibilities that you will learn:

  • Control and direct traffic at construction sites, events, or any other designated areas, ensuring the safety of pedestrians, motorists, and other personnel.
  • Follow traffic control plans, instructions, and procedures in accordance with BCCSA, WorkSafe BC regulations and OHS guidelines.
  • Use appropriate signaling devices, such as hand signals, to guide vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians safely through work zones.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, drivers, and construction personnel to maintain a safe and efficient flow of traffic.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), is worn correctly and maintained according to safety protocols.
  • Assist with the setup and takedown of traffic control devices and signage as required.
  • Monitor and report any irregularities, safety hazards, or incidents to supervisors promptly.
  • Attend regular safety training sessions to keep uptodate with industry standards and best practices.
