Job Overview:

The maintenance position is vital to the overall cleanliness and first impression of the Guests. Our maintenance staff is responsible for cleaning, repairing, and maintaining the interior and exterior of our building.


Green Storage Hamilton is a brand new state of the art storage facility and office suites located at 200 Glendale Ave N.


This role is a Full-time position

This role would guarantee a minimum schedule of 5 shifts per week.

Where Will This Take You?

Responsibilities:

  • Observe the general appearance of the parking lot. Pick up any garbage, loose debris, cigarette butts or other refuse and dispose of it.
  • Walk around the facility/offices and check for water, misplaced skids, blocked walkways, garbage, ensure elevators and doors are clean, clear and in good working order, ensure units are latched and that the facility is lit as per the site's policy.
  • Clean/restock washroom(s), office area, boardroom and hallways (mop, sweep or power wash as necessary).
  • Clean out units upon customer a customer moveout. Confirm if any damage in the unit and if repairs are needed inform the Client relations manager should any issues be identified.
  • Repair unit doors as needed and inform the site manager should customer damage be suspected as the cause.
  • Ensure door latches and lock mechanisms of the unit are in good working order.
  • Ensure the moving equipment (i.e. dollies) are in good working order and repair as needed.
  • Keep an inventory of cleaning supplies and note when items are needed to the site manager so they may restock.
  • Remove garbage and recycling from the office, bathroom and exterior garbage receptacles each shift.
  • Drywall and paint touchups in units where needed.
  • Replace lights and fixtures where needed.
  • Snow removal support (seasonal) ensure walkways are clear from snow and ice in all areas where the customer would have access (i.e. at the keypads, doorways, and bay door entrances). *A third party is contracted for snow removal.


Landscaping support (seasonal)
  • Plant flowers, maintain herb and vegetable gardens, help maintain the lawn as needed, water the lawn and flowers and remove weeds as needed. *A third party is contracted for lawn maintenance.
  • Mop loading bays & drivein bay.
  • Floor Scrub interior hallway using ride on floor scrubber.
  • Follow all health and safety policies.
  • Count and return to loading area moving equipment (dollies).
  • Inspect fence along the outdoor storage area.
  • Keep maintenance binder up to date (i.e. contacts, site codes, sign in worksheets for contractors, inventory list and all other necessary information.)
  • Clean windows interior and exterior.
  • Check expiry dates and maintenance dates on fire extinguishers, smoke detectors or any other items requiring checks.
  • Monthly fire testing of emergency lights, check extinguisher pressure, sprinkler pressures and pull station testing.
  • Change filters quarterly in furnaces.
  • Work in company software/app for reviewing daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks and communicating with the team when tasks are completed or if additional support is needed.

Salary:
$17.00-$22.00 per hour
