Job Summary:

PICS Intercultural/Tri-Provincial Health Care Professional Canadian Work Experience & Wage Subsidy FCR Program will help Internationally Trained Health Professionals (IEHPs) including but not limited to women and non-Binary who face barriers to settling in their profession or related career by providing Canadian Work Experience, Wage-Subsidy and Job placement to Health Care Aides, Clinical/Addiction Counsellors and Other Health Professionals.

This program will provide services with joint partnerships in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- works with the Manager to develop and refine program goals and objectives aligned with the organization's mission;
- communicates effectively with clients and provides counseling to professionals who are outside Canada and assists professionals transitioning to a new location or country;
- provides career guidance, personalized support, and guidance, addressing their needs and concerns before their arrival and addressing any concerns or challenges raised by clients in a timely and professional manner;
- meets with clients virtually to obtain information and identify their Career goals and guide them with navigation pathways;
- develops a detailed career action/credential plan for health sector professional immigrants;
- provides information on labor market mobility and integration for AB, BC, ON;
- reviews every client's resume to make sure they meet the Canadian standards;
- conducts workshops on workplace communication, Indigenous awareness, etc;
- provides information regarding NOC/Teer to clients so they can see what duties are expected in the Canadian workforce;
- collects labor market information for clients regarding job openings and also coordinates with labor market workshop schedules;
- provides Settlement services information and guidance on housing options, Education, healthcare, and other essential services;
- provides referral services to the clients for different resources needed in the community;
- works closely with employment support, Job readiness support, and profile enhancement for clients;
- provides information on women's support Services Plan, Labour Market information, and information about the authorities;
- understands the specific needs of the clients and refers to distinct programs within PICS based on the needs;
- build connections with employers and refer the clients to various jobs;
- maintains accurate records and documentation of client interactions and progress reports; and
- performs other duties as assigned.

Job Skills and Abilities:

- fluent in English; fluency in a second language (Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog, Cantonese, or Mandarin) is an asset;
- strong knowledge of local labor market information and methods to maintain a current understanding of local influences and regional trends;
- strong knowledge of career counseling and job development;
- strong analytical skills coupled with a high degree of accuracy;
- ability to conduct Workshops for clients;
- excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- strong ability to work with mínimal supervision;
- excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and the public including potential employers and other service providers;
- competent to accomplish tasks with deadlines & handle stress and pressure; and
- willing to take initiative, and action & results-oriented, flexible, and dedicated to quality work.

Qualifications/Experience Requirement:

- bachelor's degree in a related discipline and/or an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered;
- minimum 1 year of experience in job development experience; and
- experience in community-based, career development/employment services is preferred.

Additional Information
- valid driver's license and access to a suitable vehicle is an asset; and
- clean Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) is required.
