This is a contract position for a Project Manager / Leader - Senior for our public sector client.

Twelve Months

7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple complex projects, and project resources, through the project management life cycle
  • Manage Technical projects that implement, deploy in an integrated environment including MS Azure, AWS (cloud services) and in a public safety grade physical infrastructure environment.
  • Work with multiple application and technical vendors to plan, implement solutions end to end including integration with other public safety integrated solutions.
  • Develop, manage, and execute project charters, integrated project plans, schedules, and communication plans, including obtaining approvals
  • Ensure the development and the delivery of business cases where applicable (i.
e. management board submissions), to seek approval for long term support & maintenance contracts with Ministry vendors

  • Ensure project implementation plans have no adverse impact to public safety operations
  • Ensure a high level of fiscal control and accountability for the project budget.
  • Create and manage the assigned work package within the overall project plan, including all components, documents, and reports
  • Provide project, and/or portfolio reporting to multi stakeholders at senior executive levels
  • Proactively identify risks and issues pertaining to the assigned work package; report the risks and issues to the overall Project Champions, and the Portfolio Team.
Identify mitigation strategies and responses to the issues and risks

  • Manage stakeholder's interests and expectations throughout the life cycle of the project
  • Forecast changes to the budget; communicate planned vs.
actual budget as the project progresses

  • Adhere to OPS I& IT standards and best practices for project management, to facilitate control of system quality, adherence to standard methodology, and the control of the use of I & IT resources
  • Work with vendors to successfully negotiate and deliver mutually beneficial multi year contracts for ongoing warranty, maintenance, and support of the technology such as the Computer Aided Dispatch application
Qualifications
-10+ years of experience with Project Management

  • Demonstrated experience in managing technical projects that implement, deploy in an integrated environment including MS Azure, AWS (cloud services)
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies: Cisco SD-WAN routers, LAN switches, VLANs, VMware.
Experience implementing new network (LAN/WAN) to multiple sites, and managing detailed network transition collateral

  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple application and technical vendors to plan, implement solutions end to end including integration with other public safety integrated solutions.


Nice to have-Ability to establish and manage complex stakeholder relationships between provincial, municipal governments, first responder partners (police, ambulance, and fire) and 21 ambulance dispatch centres in the province.
