Our fast-paced and motivated team is currently recruiting an Design Lead who will play a key role within Nomodic's operations team.


The Design Lead is required to promote a culture of continuous improvement and is accountable for project design planning, tracking, and overseeing budgets.

This role creates and maintains regular interaction with both internal and external stakeholders, therefore requiring strong attention to detail, organization, and a customer-focused attitude.


This Design Lead must perform with a high degree of professionalism, judgement, and moral standards, ensuring the project's goals of safety, cost, and schedule are maintained throughout the work.

**THE JOB
The Design Lead will perform some or all of the following:

  • Maintain and promote the corporate health and safety policies and procedures
  • Act as an authority in principles of design, modular construction and building regulations
  • Oversee modular constructability in designs, drive standards, best practices, and knowledge sharing
  • Develop and prepare building designs and specifications in Revit
  • Support project development by completing designs for bid submittals, performing modularity reviews, and providing design guidance to the bidding process
  • Manage the design inputs required throughout the bid and tender process including incorporating bestinclass design, technical deviations, specifications, addendums, and enhancing Nomodic's competitive opportunities through affordable and attractive design
  • Act as a job captain from schematic design through contract administration collaborating with project consultants ensuring designs and drawings are completed on time, adhere basis of design and to the owners' requirements
  • Actively engage with the project execution team and manufacturing facilities with clarifications, design inputs, value engineering and consultant coordination
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement and cost efficiencies of project designs
  • Stewards the efficient activities of document control for revisions, change management, issuance and distribution of project drawings, designs, and engineering
  • Participate in enhancing use of technologies inclusive of but not limited to Revit/Bluebeam/Procore
  • Oversees and stewards clash detection of design drawings, Level of Detail modeled and QA/QC of project designs
  • Ensure projects consultant resources, budget, and scheduling is maintained within plan
  • Provides design support and leadership across multiple business units
  • Shall also perform duties as assigned from senior leadership
**QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Technology Diploma in building sciences from an accredited institution
  • Architectural or Engineering degree from an accredited institution considered an asset
  • Must be fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Must have minimum class 5 driver's license

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a job captain or senior designer role of wood framed residential, commercial, industrial and/or hospitality building
  • Progressive experience in volumetric modular design considered and asset
  • Excellent knowledge of Revit is an asset
  • Experience with Procure and Bluebeam preferred
  • Advancedlevel proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
  • Ability to promote and exemplify Nomodic's core values
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superb planning, organizational, and logistic skills
  • Accurate attention to detail, time management, problemsolving, and decisionmaking capabilities
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality
  • Selfmotivated and able to work independently, as well as in a team, in a fastpaced environment
  • Deadline driven
**WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Work weeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, with variable times due to travel necessities and restrictions
  • Nomodic's Head Office is in Calgary, AB; This role will be a hybrid/remote position
