Position Purpose and Summary

The Campus Ministries Intern provides learning and ministry experiences for students within the Campus Ministries department. The intern gives particular assistance to programming and mentoring in both face-to-face and online endeavors within Campus Ministries. All this is done with a view toward the overarching goal of developing spiritual maturing disciples of Jesus Christ.

Key Areas of Accountability

General:

  • To work, with the relevant Campus Ministries staff, to ensure that effective, sustainable learning and ministry experiences for students in the respective ministry areas are maintained and that strategic new ones are developed and implemented.
  • To contribute to the development of innovative discipleship and chapel programming as well as the development of resources that can extend the reach beyond traditional contexts.
  • To contribute to the disciplemaking efforts of the Campus Ministries department through atlarge ministry to TWU students.
  • To assist in the regular assessment of the effectiveness of the experiences offered by the Campus Ministries department.

Specific:

  • To recruit, mentor and disciple Campus Ministries leaders and members, particularly in the areas of discipleship and group ministries.
  • To recruit and promote awareness of all Campus Ministries experiences offered.
  • To assist in the assessment and evaluation of Campus Ministry initiatives.
  • To provide personal and spiritual mentoring for students as needed.
  • Serve as a team player within Campus Ministries assisting to accomplish the mission of the
- department.

Standards & Requirements

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in related field required

Experience:
At least one year of leadership in a Christian ministry or significant involvement in student ministry required. Previous ministry to university students in the area of missions, outreach or evangelism preferred.
