Responsibilities:

  • Operate moving trucks and other company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily pretrip and posttrip vehicle inspections, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Report any vehicle issues or maintenance needs to the operations manager immediately.
  • Safely load and unload furniture, boxes, and other items, ensuring they are secured and protected from damage during transit.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and equipment (e.g., dollies, straps) to prevent personal injury and damage to items.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including addressing any customer concerns or special requests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Communicate with customers to confirm move details and ensure their complete satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to efficiently complete moving jobs.
  • Assist with training new employees as needed, demonstrating best practices and company procedures.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork, including inventory lists, damage reports, and time logs to the operations manager.
  • Use SmartMoving software to track job progress, customer interactions, and payments.
  • Adhere to all company policies, National Safety Code, and any local, provincial, and federal regulations regarding moving, transportation, and workplace safety.
  • Participate in ongoing safety training as required.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) and performing strenuous physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Able to work in various weather conditions and environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both on and off the truck.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid Nprint (or driver abstract. Obtained from ICBC) no more than 10 days old and is reasonably satisfactory for your position in accordance with its internal review procedure.
  • Previous experience in moving or a related field (1 year minimum preferred).
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to handle the physical demands of the job.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
