**NATURE OF THE WORK

***: The Pedagogical Consultant will work with the school/centres to develop a positive school climate environment that promotes the inclusion and safety of all stakeholders in the area of the Laurentians.

In addition, you will be required to:

  • Ensure that all school board stakeholders are aware of the legal requirements of the Act to Prevent Bullying and Violence in Schools (Bill 56) and support school teams in adhering to these requirements.
  • Assist school teams in the creation of their Anti-Bullying and Anti-Violence Plan (ABAV) and their EndofYear Reporting.
  • Participate in the development, distribution and implementation of the OurSCHOOL Survey.
  • Respond to the needs of school teams by suggesting evidencebased resources and programs that support a reduction in incidents of bullying and violence.
  • Help schools implement preventative measures to deescalate conflict.
  • Assist staff in debriefing incidents involving violence or conflict and in developing safety plans and other measures to prevent the reoccurrence of such situations.
  • Support school teams in responding to tier3 cases of bullying and violence.
  • Promote the use of restorative practices in schools.
  • Collaborate with inschool professionals, support staff and teachers to develop preventive measures that will help individual students to selfregulate and help staff to deescalate critical situations.
  • Provide school teams with professional development training on all aspects pertaining to prevention and response to bullying and violence and on topics related to school climate (e.g., classroom management, traumainformed schools, restorative practices, etc.).
  • Work with other school boards and school service centers, external partners and the Ministry of Education.
  • Work with Head Office teams to develop systemic approaches that are studentcentred and respond to needs within our schools.
  • Participate in activities to support educational projects and action plans implemented by schools.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree;
  • Mastery of the English language and the ability to function effectively in French;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant teaching or pedagogical consulting experience;
  • A sound understanding of the Quebec Education Program;
  • Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Forms, etc.)
  • Have a valid driver's license to travel to all schools to provide inperson services
