Job Summary

Animal Care Technician – On site training – No experience necessary

As an Animal Care Technician for our Toxicology team in Sherbrooke (QC), you will be responsible for ensuring the welfare of the animals and the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role, key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the cleanliness of the living environment of the animals according to industry standards.
  • Assist the technicians in their daily tasks.
  • Handle animals.
  • Participate in the physical and social activities of the animals.
Key Elements

If you possess the following qualifications, we will train you:

  • Able to follow precise instructions.
  • Physically capable (lifting up to 20 kg, walking, standing, stooping, etc.).
  • Understanding of written English.
  • Passionate about animals.
  • High School Diploma (DES) - AEP in Animal Care is a bonus.

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test covered by the company.

Job-specific details:

  • Location: Sherbrooke, QC. Easily accessible by public transit. Free parking and electric vehicle charging station available.
  • Salary: Starting at $18.50 per hour. Opportunity for higher starting level based on specific research experience. Salary could increase to $20.50 per hour in one year based on performance.
  • Schedule: Full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week), with the possibility of overtime. Weekend work on rotation with additional bonus.
