East Gwillimbury, Ontario, Canada Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC Full time

Do you enjoy tackling challenges to create products that have a global impact? Are you passionate about developing software solutions that redefine how businesses function? Annapurna Labs team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead the building, delivery, and maintenance of innovative products that exceed customer expectations.

Your role will involve designing resilient systems that operate at a large scale, contributing to the advancement of top-tier services and applications within the AWS Cloud environment.

At Annapurna Labs, our goal is to democratize cutting-edge infrastructure and bring deep learning technology to developers worldwide. We have developed groundbreaking software and hardware solutions to achieve this vision.

Join our team to pioneer the Neuron SDK, which is tailored to enhance the performance of complex neural network models on AWS Inferentia and Trainium, our specialized chips for accelerating deep-learning workloads. The Neuron SDK is integrated with popular frameworks like Tensorflow, PyTorch, and MXNet, preinstalled in AWS Deep Learning AMIs and Deep Learning Containers for easy access to high-performance inference.

We are currently looking for senior compiler engineers to address our customers' most complex challenges. This is a chance to work on cutting-edge products blending machine learning, high-performance computing, and distributed architectures. You will lead the development of essential features, contribute to pioneering research, and guide a team of skilled engineers.

As a senior deep learning compiler engineer, you will play a key role in shaping a compiler targeting AWS Inferentia and Trainum, scaling it to handle massive ML workloads. Your expertise and innovation will drive the Neuron team forward, collaborating with AWS ML service teams, contributing to product design, and engaging in various exciting projects.

We welcome individuals with a background in machine learning and AI accelerators, although it is not mandatory. Our engineers work collaboratively across teams and projects, influencing our global customer base directly. If you have a passion for innovation, data, search, analytics, and distributed systems, this is the place to be.

You'll also:
  • Solve complex technical challenges across different layers of the technology stack.
  • Design and implement innovative software solutions to enhance service performance, durability, cost-efficiency, and security.
  • Develop high-quality products that are always available and reliable.
  • Explore new implementations to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

In your daily tasks, you will code solutions to improve software architecture efficiency, establish metrics, automate processes, and troubleshoot software defects.

You'll also:
  • Create impactful solutions for our extensive customer base.
  • Engage in design conversations, code reviews, and communication with various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to influence business decisions based on technical insights.
  • Thrive in a startup-like environment where your work drives meaningful outcomes.
