As a member of the Cardiovascular Investigation Unit/Cardiac Catherization Lab, the principal responsibilities of the INVENTORY AIDE include: cleaning/disinfecting equipment, supplies and procedure/patient and other rooms in assigned work area; assisting in the management and replenishment of Direct Order supplies for CVIU; replenishing HLI (Stores), CPD and other ancillary supplies throughout the unit; performing other miscellaneous departmental activities, as required; performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned and/or required.


Qualifications:

  • At minimum, completion of high school or recognized equivalent
  • Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life support (BCLS) program
  • Less than 3 months practical and related experience and/or 3 months to less than 6 months on the job training
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good time management/organizational skills
  • Good problem identification/problem solving skills
  • Some knowledge of basic medical equipment and supplies an asset
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to perform responsibilities in a professional and courteous manner
  • Knowledge of the Occupational health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols and practices
  • Knowledge of Emergency Assistance Code
  • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
  • Vaccines (COVID19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
