HR ASSISTANT - 18 MONTH MATERNITY LEAVE TERM


We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Assistant to join our HR team in our Head Office in Halifax, NS Do you have a passion for human resources? Do you enjoy engaging with a wide range of people? If so, you may be the person we are looking for.


Reporting to the HR Manager, the
HR Assistant will work alongside an HR Generalist and Senior HR Advisor in our Halifax office.

This role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing exceptional internal client support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.


This position is anticipated to begin July 24th, 2023, for an 18 month term.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver effective onboarding plans;
  • Utilize our human resources information system (HRIS) to make employee updates, and ensure data accuracy;
  • Perform various administrative tasks such as tracking employee referrals, trainings, reviewing engineer membership listings, DEI statistics, preparing employment letters, etc.;
  • Participate in employee led committees;
  • Support in the research, updating and development of HR policies and practices;
  • Perform tasks associated with administering HR programs; and
  • Assist in various HR administrative tasks as required.

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

  • Diploma or degree in a related field; with a specialization or certificate/diploma in Human Resources Management;
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information;
  • Proficiency in

Microsoft Office:
Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote and PowerPoint;

  • Detail oriented with a focus on ensuring date integrity and delivering high quality work;
  • Ability to adapt to changes and reevaluate priorities, multitask, and manage time wisely.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
