WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH


Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer and based in Toronto, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Investment Plan and ensuring the long-term structure and focus of the asset mix, risk budgeting and capital planning.

The candidate will also support the rest of the Investment team on ensuring day to day execution supports the long term plan.


WHAT YOU'LL DO


We are seeking seasoned investors to join our investment team and play a pivotal role in the build out of MFAM and the Foundation's global diverse portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the framework for the long-term asset mix and assisting the Investments team to ensure that opportunities are looked at in the context of that framework.


Working with the CIO, the successful candidate will:
Drive the Investment Plan (including ongoing review and adjustments)

Develop Portfolio Guidelines and limits to support the Plan under the asset mix framework

Manage day-to-day oversight of portfolio compliance within internal limits

Support allocation of capital and risk budgets to different asset classes.


As part of the Global Investment team, they will contribute to risk, and operational projects, and as a leader, the successful candidate will contribute significant time to recruiting, training, managing, and mentoring other team members.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Fifteen plus years of relevant global investment experience
  • Experience developing and implementing investment strategy, policy, in depth knowledge of various investment concepts.
  • Experience operating with a high level of complexity
  • Extensive experience applying and overseeing the application of a range of investment strategies (global, cross asset class, quantitative etc) to build and manage a diversified basket of global assets and to pursue returns above the benchmark
  • MBA, JD or relevant advanced degree such as CFA,
  • Proven leadership and collaboration ability
  • Exceptional quantitative analysis skills
  • Demonstrated intellectual and investment curiosity
  • Excellent process awareness and decision making skills
  • Collaborative team skills as an excellent listener, learner, planner, and contributor
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation ability
  • Excellent organizational capability
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy
  • Keen attention to detail and focus while working under the pressure of time and the markets
  • Unquestionable ethical standards
