About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a
regular full-time Supervisor, Case Management and Search Analysis to join our dynamic
Medical Affairs and Innovation, Stem Cells team.


The
Medical Affairs and Innovation, Stem Cells team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by providing oversight for the Centre for Innovation, organ and stem cell donation and transplantation, utilization, donor and clinical services, medical microbiology, and epidemiology.

The team ensures that Canadian Blood Services' medical and scientific support is provided to the ongoing operations of every aspect of their work.


In this role, you will act as a resource and advocate for donors and provide leadership and guidance in the day-to-day operations of the Case Management and Search Analysis Teams.

You will contribute to the overall management of the Stem Cell Registry, by participating as an active member of the leadership team, while also maintaining supervisory responsibilities, focusing on the most sensitive and complex cases.


Formula for success

  • Leveraging your ability to supervise a diverse team with rapidly changing priorities, you will oversee the donor assessment process and supervise the Case Management and Search Analyst Teams.
  • You will report regularly to the Manager, Stem Cell Registry, and provide advice and solutions on Case Management and Search Analyst team activities.
  • Utilizing your strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking abilities, you will facilitate early identification and mitigation of risks and issues.
  • Focusing on your excellent customer service skills, you will communicate effectively with national and international donor centres and transplant centres regarding donor assessment and eligibility.
  • Drawing on your strong ability to lead and work collaboratively across a diverse team, you will oversee employee activities and provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and monitoring of staff performance.
  • You will participate as a key member of the Stem Cell Registry leadership team, attend, and actively participate in strategic planning and Operations meetings.
  • Concentrating on your knowledge and experience, you will lead the proposal of enhancements to SCNCC (Stem Cells National System Solution), assess and provide upgrade advice to ensure system functions are at the required level.
  • You will provide expertise in the development and review of policies and procedures for the Stem Cell program.
  • Using your strong interpersonal and organizational skills, you will ensure registry operations are planned, organized, and managed for safe, efficient, and costeffective day to day operations, while providing excellent customer service to promote donor and patient safety.
  • You will supervise aspects of stem cell donor related activities, from search to post donation, and participate in the evaluation of operational measures that advance Canadian donor acquisition and management.
  • In collaboration with the team, you will evaluate overall Registry performance; make recommendations regarding continuous quality improvement in operation, design, and execution.
  • Utilizing your adherence to timelines and strong attention to detail, you will provide input to Stem Cell Registry budget preparation, manage cost and efficiencies, and provide Manager with recommendations for improvement.

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of postsecondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a University Degree in Health Management/Public Administration, or equivalent.
