***: The Construction Supervisor will engage and overseeing field installations and the build of Polar Racking products by subcontractors at various solar construction sites. The Supervisor will provide on-site subcontractor support and oversee progress of installations, of ground mount and carports PV systems. The Supervisor is responsible for the subcontractor's safety, quality and of the project timing.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in construction, engineering or technology, or equivalent combination of education/related work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a technical related role required.
  • Ability to read and understand technical dwgs.
  • Knowledge and experience in subcontractor and project site management.
  • Must be knowledgeable and have experience with CAD (AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, etc.)..
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • International experience an asset.
  • Must have valid driver license in good standing.
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada.
  • Must qualify for a TN visa in the United States
  • Must have valid passport and able to travel and work in United States of America and Caribbean

DUTIES:

  • Must be capable of managing projects from inception to completion - timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, buy-off, budget, engineering changes.
  • Prepare and submit site daily weekly reports, expense reports and timesheets to the respective departments.
  • Evaluate products accurately for maintenance, warranty, upgrades and other purposes.
  • Works with Engineers to develop and improve racking designs and costs.
  • Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions.
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches.
  • Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance, testing tasks, training and commissioning.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports.
  • Operate vehicle in a safely manner.
  • Work Safely onsite and follow all site safety rules and protocols.
  • Follow all company's filed procedures and protocols.
  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organisation.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings.
  • Build positive relationships with customers.
  • Keeps up to date on customer requirements and communicates to the team.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office programs.
  • Comes to work each day, as scheduled.
  • Approaches each day and each challenge with a positive attitude.
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner when receiving or giving feedback/information, positive or constructive.
  • Required to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with local laws. Follows and ensures the Company's procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout their assigned area.
  • Other duties as needed.

EQUIPMENT and/or PRODUCT FAMILIARITY:

Product:
Comprehensive understanding of Polar Racking Products, Installation manuals, O&M manuals, warranties.

Software:
Excel, AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Windows, and internal databases software etc.

RESPONSIBILITY AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Under the general direction of the Manager, works independently, conferring regularly with group/customer/supplier specialists to ensure successful implementation. Frequent travel is a requirement of the job including occasional overnight and international travel. The position requires the incumbent to have good verbal and written communication skills.

Works in office environment but may be exposed to some elements such as temperature and noise when working on projects in the field or at suppliers.

Ability to obtain and keep a valid driver's license and passport is required.
