Summary
Currently, we are searching for an Accountant with meticulous attention to detail and strong time management skills to join our team on a full-time, year-round basis. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accountant will play a vital role in overseeing all financial aspects of the company's corporate operations.
Key Responsibilities | Requirements
- Support month-end procedures, handle prepaids, intercompany invoicing, AR reporting, accrual bookings, and necessary entries.
- Compile month-end summary documents, assist in month-end closings, and review with operational staff.
- Maintain the subcontractor payment list multiple times per month.
- Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot issues and explore enhancement opportunities.
- Manage and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy.
- Oversee the intercompany process and maintain balance with sister companies monthly.
- Generate requested reports to enhance job data understanding and analysis, contributing to improved construction data inputs and report outputs.
- Support equipment department by recording hours.
- Promote and adhere to the company's safety program, fostering a safety-first culture among all employees and partners.
- Act responsibly, ensuring personal safety and the safety of others.
- Contribute as a key team member, supporting the organization's success and providing technical and administrative assistance as needed.
- Participate in special initiatives with project teams when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Must hold a Class 5 Driver's License.
- Prior experience in road construction industry is advantageous.
- 1-3 years of finance/business development experience.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Project, Lync, Publisher, and Outlook.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail, especially in writing, editing, and proofreading.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
Working Conditions
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Work primarily indoors, involving a mix of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and exposure to blue light.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Manual dexterity needed for computer and peripheral use.
- Conduct and attend presentations.
- Must adhere to the company's drug and alcohol testing policies.
- Overtime may be necessary.
