Department Overview


The
TD Wealth Compliance Department provides compliance advisory and second line oversight of TD Wealth businesses, including: TD Waterhouse Canada (an IIROC registrant that includes Private Investment Advice, Financial Planning, and Direct Investing), Private Investment Counsel (an OSC registrant), TD Asset Management (an OSC registrant), Private Trust, and Private Banking.

Key functions within the unit include the Chief Compliance Officers and their teams for each business line, Surveillance, Regulatory Investigations & Client Complaint Resolution, Regulatory Change Management, and Registrations.

A multi-disciplinary team of compliance professionals supports these activities.


Our
Co-op/Intern Programming is offered with select Co-op and Internship roles, and is designed to help you better understand the TD business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network.

This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:

  • Lunch and Learns on topics such as Innovation
  • Diversity and Inclusion and Personal Branding and so much more
This is an exciting opportunity for a post-secondary student who wishes to learn about the functions of a Compliance department within a large financial institution, while also gaining valuable hands-on experience

This 4-month summer term and will provide you exposure to various industries, products and client groups in the interesting and dynamic world of compliance


You will be part of a team with targeted deliverables, working on initiatives designed to maintain and improve regulatory compliance standards across TD.


Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing changes to market and conduct rules impacting TD Wealth
  • Reviewing and updating documents, including digitization of Compliance policies, procedures, and other materials
  • Support opportunities to enhance innovation, workflow capabilities and implementation of modernization initiatives
  • Research and prepare written materials including memos on emerging issues, trends and evolving regulatory landscape impacting TD Wealth
  • Providing administrative support to Compliance teams, including filing, word processing, and maintaining, and providing information from various compliancerelated information databases
  • Assisting with other tasks/projects as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in law, business or a related field with high academic standing and a demonstrated record of achievement
  • Wellorganized, and can prioritize multiple tasks and deliver results in a fastpaced environment
  • Selfmotivated, well organized and positive resultsdriven attitude
  • Ability to be effective in both a team and independent working environment
  • Strong communicator with the ability to impact and influence others; demonstrated presentation skills
  • Advanced Excel skills are an asset
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and problemsolving skills; can see the "big picture" in a complex or ambiguous environment
  • Excellent verbal communication (both oneonone and in small groups) and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop solid business relationships with business partners and stakeholders

  • This position is a 4month work term and will commence
