Job Description:


The Co-op, Android Development will participate in building and iterating on an Android app to power Indigo's iconic in-store kiosks, as part of the re-launch of Indigo's ecommerce site on a new technology platform.

The Co-op works closely with the design and product team, mentored directly by a staff mobile developer, to support the delivery of a prototype and pilot rollout to dozens of stores, as well as participating in the analysis of feedback, delivering iterations quickly.


KEY DELIVERABLES

  • System performance and support SLA's
  • Successful delivery of initiatives and features based on scope, timelines and budgets
  • Adherence to all department policies, standards and guidelines

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Functional

  • Build an Android app for use on instore kiosks
  • Work closely with the Product Design team on rapid prototyping
  • Leverage Salesforce Commerce Cloud APIs based on reference documentation
  • Follow mobile best practices with the assistance of relevant engineering leadership
  • Provide estimates of development complexity for the use in prioritization
  • Maintain strong documentation for eventual app handoff
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decisionmaking and design processes
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates hightech and hightouch solutions for Indigo's customers
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them

Qualifications:

Work Experience / Education / Certifications

  • Second or Thirdyear students in Engineering, Computer Science or a related degree program
Competencies / Skills / Attributes

  • Experience with modern Android architecture (Kotlin, Fluent, Flutter, etc)
  • Strong software development fundamentals (computer science, software engineering, etc)
  • Mobile UI implementation experience, some visual design aptitude
  • Understanding of working with production APIs from a mobile perspective
  • A knack for analyzing and solving problems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
Other (travel, Bilingual, etc.)

  • Some travel to GTA stores to see the kiosks in action
