Reports to: Regional Director of Operations, Prairies
Location: Edmonton, AB or Calgary, AB
We are in search of Area Managers to join our Operations Team in the Prairies. This role reports to the Regional Director and involves collaborating closely with the Support Team to ensure retail franchise bakeries meet COBS Bread's high standards in delivering top-quality, freshly baked products and excellent customer service. This position may be located in either Edmonton or Calgary, necessitating frequent travel to multiple remote and metro bakery locations.

Responsibilities include:
- Engage directly with each franchise operator to identify improvement opportunities, create action plans, and enhance their COBS Bread businesses
- Lead, mentor, and advise a group of franchise operators
- Assist in the launch of new bakeries
- Drive operational excellence to optimize our franchisees' sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction
- Ensure the successful rollout of COBS Bread's marketing, product, and system initiatives and enhancements across various retail franchise locations
Requirements
Your Qualifications:
- A high-energy, positive demeanor with a talent for building trust and meaningful connections quickly
- 2+ years of experience in a franchise retail setting or multi-site retail management
- 5+ years of managerial experience, preferably in the food service, hospitality, or franchise sector
- Proficient in analyzing financial results and performance metrics, and translating strategic ideas into actionable plans
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently and spend time 'in the field' rather than at a desk
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Capacity to influence others to drive change and continual improvement
- A good aptitude for multitasking and managing competing priorities
- Ability to work independently, take calculated risks, and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision
- Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Degree with a focus on Business Management
