Job Number:49898**The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) requires a professional with a specific interest and skill set in workplace harassment, harassment investigations, human rights, conflict resolution, training, and employee conduct to support the EPS in maintaining an inclusive and respectful work environment.

Working specifically with the EPS' civilian and sworn positions, responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Manage harassment in the workplace files including intake, evaluation, and resolution.
  • Investigate harassment in the workplace complaints, including document review, interviewing parties and witnesses, and providing written analysis, findings, and recommendations for resolution.
  • Liaise with unions and other external partners for ad hoc requests, and to facilitate investigative and resolution processes.
  • Support and assist EPS staff and supervisors to appropriately and effectively respond to incidents of discrimination and/or harassment.
  • Deliver training on workplace harassment and discrimination to management, staff, recruits, and volunteers.
  • Ensure presentations and training materials are kept up to date and current.
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A University degree in Social Sciences, Human Resources Management, Law, or other related discipline, with a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting investigations and drafting briefings and investigation reports, including analysis and findings.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitation, problemsolving and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including effective presentation skills are essential.
  • Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of the Alberta Human Rights Act and Police Service Regulation would be considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and administrative skills with a desire to serve.
  • The ability to preserve confidentiality in sensitive situations is a key component of this position.
  • As part of your prehire screening you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.
