Digby & Area Health Services Centre is in search of a family medicine physician to join their team in a locum role within a collaborative practice. The center, situated next to the Digby General Hospital, boasts a supportive staff including nurse practitioners, a family practice nurse, a licensed practical nurse, and a clerical team. The facility offers a spacious reception area, nine exam rooms, a staff kitchen/meeting room, and six office spaces fully equipped for primary care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages
  • Ensure appropriate workload management
  • Coordinate patient care within the practice and community
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers
  • Adhere to regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority
  • Strive for same or next day access for the practice population
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
  • Utilize electronic medical records for patient documentation
Expected Hours:
  • Guaranteed daily rate with no overhead
  • Schedule a minimum of 25-30 daily appointments
  • Collaborate with team members on patient care
  • Enjoy flexibility in choosing convenient work dates
  • Access furnished apartment provided by the center
  • Efficient orientation to start caring for patients
Qualifications:
  • Eligibility for licensure with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
  • Certification with College of Family Physicians of Canada
  • Membership with Canadian Medical Protective Association
