Position Description:

As the Human Resources Coordinator at our company, you will play a key role in supporting the HR Manager in managing a large number of nonunion and unionized employees in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to Senior Leadership, Operations Managers, and employees.
  • Input all employee changes into our HRIS (Workday) promptly.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and orientations through our HRIS (Workday).
  • Act as a bridge between employees and management for HR/union-related matters.
  • Assist in managing union contracts and addressing employee concerns within union guidelines.
  • Participate in resolving union grievances.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records.
  • Prepare various employee letters upon request.
  • Respond to general HR, benefits, and payroll inquiries.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers on recruitment strategies.
  • Participate in job and career fairs.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and team members.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in HR Coordination, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Experience with HRIS Systems, such as Workday, Dayforce, ADP.
  • Previous experience with unions and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and best practices in unionized environments.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic setting.
  • CHRP designation or working towards it is a plus.
  • Results-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking skills for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective prioritization and multitasking skills.
