The Opportunity:
As the Urology Nurse Practitioner at IWK Health, you will report to the Manager, Ambulatory Surgical Care, Children's Health Program, and play a vital role in providing advanced patient care in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. Your responsibilities will include comprehensive assessments, diagnostic testing, disease management, medication prescribing, patient counseling, interdisciplinary collaboration, and leading initiatives to advance urology nursing practices. Join us in promoting patient-centered care and driving positive change within a dynamic team environment.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (flexible)
Your Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing with Clinical Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Current Nurse Practitioner license (or eligibility) in Nova Scotia
- CPR Level-C Healthcare Provider certification
- Minimum 5 years of pediatric nursing experience and 2 years of Urology nursing experience
- Experience in conducting assessments, diagnosis, and management of pediatric patients with urologic conditions
- Competence in triaging patient referrals and concerns
- Ability to perform urodynamic studies, catheterization, and other procedures
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement
