Position Description


The
Mechanical and Electrical Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Project Manager(s) and Superintendent(s) on small and large-scale projects, coordinating activities required in the pre-construction, construction and start-up of all building systems, including but not limited to temporary services, site services, elevator, mechanical and electrical.


Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform detailed reviews of all construction drawings to identify all potential conflicts between architectural/structural elements and mechanical/electrical installations
  • Plan the mechanical and electrical components of a construction project and prepare a construction schedule in conjunction with the Project Superintendent and the Project Manager
  • Prepare scope of work documents with a division of responsibility for trades and specific scopes of work for temporary operations.
  • Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for the mechanical and electrical components of the job, and assists the Project Manager to ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings
  • Monitor in conjunction with the Superintendent, a project's material and labour costs for mechanical and electrical components and assure accurate quality reporting is being conducted
  • Review mechanical and electrical changes received from the architect to ensure they are complete and up to standards and review subcontractor prices on these changes
  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in updating and achieving schedule requirements, mechanical and electrical RFIs and shop drawings and administrate mechanical/electrical project completion requirements

Position Requirements

  • Construction or Engineering or related diploma/degree or equivalent experience
  • 25 years of mechanical and electrical construction experience
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software
  • Driver's License is required
