We are seeking a well-organized, self -directed individual with excellent communication skills for the position of Research Administrative Coordinator.

Reporting to the Department of Medicine's Administrator, the Research Administrative Coordinator performs numerous complex and confidential assignments, with key responsibilities including:

  • Serves as an initial contact/resource person for the Research Director, reviewing all incoming correspondence and inquiries;
  • Coordinates activities of the Department's Research Committee and Resident Research Committee;
  • Works directly with researchers in the DOM to identify and facilitate researcherspecific funding opportunities;
  • Drafts and updates policy documents and research orientation documents as required;
  • Liaises with the Nova Scotia Health Authority and Dalhousie University about various research administrative matters;
  • Provides administrative support to DOM researchers as needed
  • Coordinates annual funding competitions;
  • Organizes productivity reviews of departmental researchers;
  • Organizes research events;
  • Organizes the recruitment process for PhD researchers joining the Department;
  • Coordinates research excellence awards competitions.

About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma from a recognized university or college and 3-5 years' experience in an administrative role. An acceptable combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of a formal post-secondary qualification;
  • A proven track record of superior organization and time management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficiency using MS Office and Adobe;
  • Minute taking experience required;
  • Experience using Common CV software and experience in an academic healthcare facility and/or research administration would be assets;
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Incentives:
