As the Sales Director, Canada at Telesat, you play a pivotal role in driving business growth within our cutting-edge Telesat Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. Your mission is to develop and execute winning sales strategies, build a robust customer base, and generate revenue from LEO satellite communication products and services. The focus extends to the government, its agencies, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and enterprise customers. Your ultimate goal is to evolve into the role of the Canadian Regional Director of Sales, overseeing Canadian sales operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, communicate, and execute compelling sales strategies for LEO and GEO services, specifically targeting the Government and enterprise verticals.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape, channel dynamics, and environmental factors to ensure our proposals remain high-value and irresistible.
  • Be the enthusiastic voice of Telesat's LEO services. Articulate the unique value proposition of our Lightspeed capabilities.
  • Promote the Telesat brand with passion and conviction.
  • Proactively engage potential customers through cold-calling, lead generation, and follow-ups.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, fostering trust and credibility.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align with Telesat's business strategy.
  • Participate actively in strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, resource planning, and budgeting and reporting.
  • Prepare persuasive presentation materials, including corporate overviews and service highlights.
  • Educate prospective customers about our comprehensive suite of services, including both LEO and Geostationary Orbit (GEO) offerings.
  • Work closely with colleagues to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Champion teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
Qualifications and Attributes:
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years experience with a proven track record in sales, preferably within the satellite communication industry.
  • Passion: An unwavering belief in the transformative power of LEO technology.
  • Communication: Fluently bilingual with exceptional verbal and written communication skills (Required).
  • Relationship Building: Ability to establish and nurture strong customer relationships with all levels, including C-suite.
  • Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset with the agility to adapt to a dynamic market.
  • Leadership Aspiration: Eagerness to grow into a leadership role as the Regional Canadian Director of Sales.
