Manulife's Global Wealth & Asset Management (Global WAM) segment has embarked on an exciting journey that is transforming the organization by harnessing the power of data and related analytics.

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about harnessing the power of data and brings to the table robust technical expertise coupled with strong communications skills.

The Chief Data Office in close partnership with key business partners across Global WAM Operations will support the transformation of the organization to ensure data is used as a strategic asset supporting our business goals

The group's objectives include:

  • A single, central source for data which is easy to access and describes how the data was obtained
  • Data quality continually monitored and accuracy improved
  • Common standards and policies for data governance
  • Flexible reporting tools to access data and adapt to changing business or regulatory requirements


This role of
Product Owner , Operational Insights, GWAM Chief Data Office will be a key member of a team of data professionals responsible for establishing and driving the successful implementation of BI and reporting solutions in Manulife's Global WAM Operations business.

They will bring together their technical expertise, business knowledge and communications skills to enable deployment and usage of these solutions for GWAM.


A Product Owner has a passion for solving problems, gathering requirements, and finding creative solutions, while always having the customer at the forefront.

They will be responsible for prioritization activities and ensuring the team has a great relationship with partners.

In addition to leading team priorities, they will focus on ensuring solutions are being developed per customer requirements and are usable by our partners, continuing to work with those customers on evolution of our solutions and elevate data broadly in the business.


Applicants require background and experience in analytical roles, a proven ability to work closely with various team members, and a strong desire to learn what is needed to properly support the business.

  • Previous Product Ownership or Business Analyst experience
  • University degree in related field preferred
  • Good organizational and problemsolving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion
  • Good verbal and written communication; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes
  • Awareness & understanding of full technology stack used within the organization
  • Enthusiastic, positive and collaborative team player and team energizer
  • Offering leadership to the team through prioritization, stakeholder relationships and viability of requested work.
  • Resiliency to ambiguity
  • Identifying benefits, risks, and downstream impacts of our work.
  • Communicating status of current & future initiatives and team successes.
  • Creating UAT strategies and test plans, sometimes executing them and at other times facilitating their execution.
  • Working directly with technical team members, helping them bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation
  • Identifying risks and mitigation strategies.
