Job Summary:

As one of the first combined Schools ofMedicine and Public Health (SMPH), UW SMPH is a leader in themultidisciplinary study of health and healthcare.

The aims ofimplementation science are fully aligned with the missions ofUW-Madison, SMPH, and the UW Health delivery system to translateinnovation that advances the Wisconsin idea: using \"campus resources tomeet the challenges of improving health, well-being, and equity in WIand beyond.\" Implementation science expertise bridges gaps betweenresearch and practice to ensure that the promise of scientific discoveryis realized by our hospital, clinics, and community.

Implementationscience as a discipline includes methods to promote the systematicuptake of research findings AND evidence-based practices into routinecare, and, hence, to improve the quality and effectiveness ofhealthcare.

Implementation science capacity is instrumental forexceptional academic medical centers like ours that aspire to be on theleading edge of innovation and quality.

MD/Physician applicants will beexpected to dedicate up to 70% of their time to their respectivedepartment\'s clinical responsibilities and 35-40% of their time to UWInstitute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) Disseminationand Implementation Launchpad leadership role responsibilities.

Thepreferred candidate would qualify for appointment at the Associate orFull Professor level at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and wouldhave a strong track record of funding and publications in implementationscience, a deep knowledge of implementation science research methodswith an area of recognized expertise/specialization in implementationscience.

Preference will be given to candidates experienced in leadingextramurally funded research using implementation science methodology atthe PI level.

Responsibilities:

As Director of the Dissemination &Implementation (D&I) Launchpad in the Institute for Clinical andTranslational Research (ICTR), the successful applicant will lead thescientific and programmatic vision for implementation science resourceswithin ICTR.
