SCOPE

  • Keeps immediate superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action.
  • Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximize employee morale and productivity.
  • Participates in the selection/hiring of Inventory Control personnel, provides and/or coordinates staff training, works with employees to correct deficiencies, tracks hours & overtime and participates and provides feedback on employee performances (Check-In) and includes enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Develops individuals for future advancement.
  • Takes periodic physical inventories and ensures that the investment in inventory is maintained at optimum levels.
  • Communicates with vendors about the merchandise and its concerned inquiries.
  • Authorizes adjustments made to the inventory and investigate the inventory issues like quality control complaints, customer complaints regarding products, etc.
  • Establishes and executes cycle count schedule in compliance with the corporate accounting objectives.
  • Coordinates and oversees the daily cycle counts of the various inventory assets.
  • Investigates, identifies and reconciles the cycle count discrepancies, i.e., shortages as well as overages.
  • Assists with the audit process along with paper flow errors and tries to spot the inconsistencies that affect the accuracy of the inventories.
  • Takes care of the inventory areas by organizing and maintaining efficient material handling and storage.
  • Maintains the cycle count records so that it can be reviewed by the management and provides the reports related to cycle count activity.
  • Participates in the preparation and administration of the plant operations budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures.
  • Prepares analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities; including ensuring KPI's are met-weekly/monthly/annually.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with all legal regulations.
  • Communicates with H&S Committee and department heads to ensure all processes remain compliant with OSHA and other governmental regulations.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

EDUCATION/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

  • College degree in business management or a related field would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience; in supply chain / distribution centre environment required.
  • Communication-Ability to communicate effectively interdepartmentally, and externally with customers, etc.
  • Customer Service-Ability to respond effectively and in a timely manner to departmental needs, focusing on customer service
  • Previous Experience-Strong working knowledge of warehousing, retail distribution, and quality control
  • Leadership - Job requires a willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and take direction
  • Cooperation - Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Analytical Thinking - Job requires analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Organized-Job requires multi-tasking many tasks at one time
