Job Title: Formulation Specialist at Jamieson Wellness

Job Description: This 12-week contract position involves covering a leave. Reporting to the Supervisor, Research and Development, the Formulation Specialist will focus on developing, updating, and optimizing product formulations to ensure they meet design specifications, operational parameters, and regulatory requirements such as USP/NF, NHP, and HPB.

  • Design and create theoretical formulations for cost evaluation
  • Conduct research and development activities including prototypes, bench trials, and pilot batches
  • Oversee production scale-up operations
  • Initiate stability studies and monitor results for compliance
  • Collaborate with the operations group to provide technical assistance
  • Maintain detailed records of product development projects
  • Research new raw materials and evaluate their properties
  • Assist with product/equipment validation
  • Participate in physical testing and evaluation of R&D products
  • Provide technical information to other departments as needed
  • Other duties and projects as required

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Science or Engineering, preferably in Chemistry, Food Science, or Pharmacology
  • 3-5 years of experience in Research or Product Development in the Nutraceutical/Pharmaceutical or Food industry
  • Expertise in gel preparation and formulation processes
  • Knowledge of supplement delivery technologies is a plus
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, MS Project, and MS Outlook
  • Strong project prioritization and communication skills
  • Understanding of GMP, GLP, and Health & Safety standards
