Position Summary
Dr.

Ciann Wilson is looking for a research project coordinator to support her ongoing community-based research projects in multi-disciplinary teams over the duration of one year, with the possibility for renewal.

Dr.

Wilson is a co-director of the Centre for Community Research, Learning and Action (CCRLA), where she leads the Access and Equity Research Interest Group (A&E RIG).

The A&E RIG focuses on utilizing community-based research approaches to improve the health and wellbeing of Black, Indigenous, and racialized communities.


Accountabilities

The Research Project Coordinator will serve an integral role in supporting multi-sectoral and interdisciplinary research teams, and the success of community-based research projects through the day-to-day coordination and implementation.

  • Communicating with study investigators, stakeholders, and collaborator organizations.
  • Provides daytoday administrative support for research project implementation including, but not limited to: coordinating meetings, drafting meeting agendas, taking meeting minutes, delegating tasks, following up on action items, keeping the research team on a timeline, managing project budgets and project deliverables, coordinating ethics review processes, supporting researchrelated data collection and knowledge mobilization activities, and maintaining confidential and ethical data and information collection and storage practices.
  • Coordinating Research Ethics Board submission and amendments
  • Facilitating the preparation of knowledge mobilization outputs from the various projects (e.g. reports, manuscripts, toolkit resources, video sharing, developing presentations, etc.)
  • Drafting and developing academic and nonacademic documents, reports, and communication materials.

Qualifications

Some qualifications required to successfully perform in this position are listed below, they include education, accreditation, years and type of work experience, skills and abilities.

  • Project management experience. A degree, diploma or certification in project management approaches, software, etc would be highly valuable.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant administrative experience, including grant funding administration, and familiarity with budget management, and institutional accounting processes.
  • A degree, diploma, or accreditation in a related field is preferable.
  • Some experience in communitybased settings with recognition and knowledge of the sensitivities needed when working with the private information of marginalized, equitydeserving, and BIR populations would be highly valuable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills (oral and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse individuals from equitydeserving communities, as well as individuals from across multiple sectors and disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and thrive in a fastpaced work environment
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a work environment requiring fast turnaround times for deliverables, multiple deadlines, and competing priorities.
