Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and skidsteers to handle materials efficiently and safely.
- Perform various housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Pick up and drop off commercial and industrial items, including drums, equipment, oils, lubricants, fuel, and materials.
- Carry out minor repairs and painting of metal containers and bins as needed.
- Troubleshoot and problemsolve technical issues related to equipment and machinery.
- Use pressure washers to clean the exterior and interior of equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while performing duties.
- Comply with company policies and regulations at all times.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or potential hazards to the appropriate personnel.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations and productivity.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
Job Requirements:
- Valid G license in Canada with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience operating forklifts and skidsteers is highly preferred.
- Handyman skills with experience in troubleshooting and problemsolving.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to safety guidelines.
- Previous experience in scrap metal recycling or a related industry is a plus.
- Thirdparty licensing and safety training is an asset, but not mandatory (company will provide training as required).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Work Conditions:
- This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- The Maintenance General Labourer will handle and transport heavy materials using forklifts and skidsteers.
- The job may involve exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, and other industrial elements.
- Safety gear and personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety goggles, gloves, and ear protection, will be provided by the company and must be worn as required.
